 All-Time Series
South Alabama owns a 51-42 all-time lead over Troy in a series that dates back to 1965. The Jaguars swept the Trojans in last year's three-game series at Stanky Field. USA outscored Troy 20-3 in the series, which included a pair of shutouts in the series opener and series finale. Troy's last series win came in 2019 at Stanky Field with consecutive wins to close the regular season. The last time the schools met in Troy, in 2018, the Trojans took two of three games with the Jags winning the series finale 8-5 in 10 innings. South Alabama is 18-17 all-time against Troy under head coach Mark Calvi.

SIMINGTON IN SBC RANKINGS
Right fielder Miles Simington ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference in batting average (.387) and hits (46), tied for second in RBIs (33), tied for fourth in doubles (10), sixth in on-base percentage (.453) and tied for eighth in total bases (69). 

HIT STREAKS, ON-BASE STREAKS
Will Turner and Diego Altamirano each carry a team-best 18-game on-base streak into Tuesday's contest. Erick Orbeta has reached base safely in 16 straight games. Landon Jordan owns the team's longest hitting streak at six games.

TISSUE AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS 
Third baseman Cameron Tissue ranks fifth nationally in sacrifice bunts (8), which ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference. Pat Murphy (1992) owns the single-season record at USA for sacrifice bunts with 18.

JAGS IN NATIONAL, SBC RANKINGS
The South Alabama pitching staff ranks sixth nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (6.94), seventh in WHIP (1.16) and 19th in ERA (3.58) - all of which lead the Sun Belt Conference. 

4 IN A ROW LAST WEEK
South Alabama went 4-0 last week with three shutouts in four contests. The Jags shut out Alabama State 10-0 last Wednesday at Stanky Field, and swept App State in three games over the weekend with a pair of 9-0 shutouts - one in the series opener and in the series finale. USA has shut out four opponents this season.

JAGS SET SEASON HIGH IN HITS VERSUS HORNETS
South Alabama recorded a season-high 16 hits in an April 6 win over Alabama State, surpassing its previous high of 15 which came against Rhode Island (Feb. 25) and Auburn (March 22). 

SEASON HIGH IN WALKS AGAINST APP STATE
The Jags drew a season-high 13 walks against Appalachian State in Sunday's series finale, bettering their previous high of nine which came against UT Arlington on March 18 at Stanky Field.

STOKES AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS IN DOUBLES
First baseman Hunter Stokes ranks tied for second in the Sun Belt Conference in doubles (11) entering the week. Stokes recorded his team-leading 11th double of the season in last Friday's series opener with App State.

MONTIEL AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS IN RUNS
Shortstop Santi Montiel ranks tied for second in the Sun Belt Conference in runs scored (32) entering the weekend. Montiel has scored seven runs in his last seven games, including three in the final two games of last weekend's App State series.

163 AND COUNTING
Shortstop Santi Montiel has started 163 consecutive games - every game since he joined the program in 2019 - with his 150th coming in the series finale with UT Arlington on March 20.

LEADING AFTER 7 INNINGS
The Jaguars are 18-0 when leading after seven innings this season, but are 0-9 when trailing after seven frames and 2-2 when the score is tied through seven.

OUTHITTING THE OPPOSITION
South Alabama is 20-3 when outhitting opponents this season, but is 0-6 when being out-hit and 0-2 when hits are tied. 

RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION
USA is batting .291 (113-for-388) with runners in scoring position this season, led by Miles Simington who is hitting .415 (17-for-41) with RISP.

6-GAME ROAD LOSING SKID
South Alabama carries a six-game losing streak, dating back to the series finale at Louisiana on March 27, into Thursday's series opener. The Jags have batted .239 with 12 doubles, five triples, 26 RBIs, 27 runs scored, and four stolen bases during that stretch, while the pitching staff has posted a 7.21 ERA with 43 strikeouts and 27 walks in 48 2/3 innings while opponents are hitting .293.

BOSWELL IN SBC RANKINGS
Right-hander Matt Boswell enters Thursday's start as the SBC leader in strikeouts (61), second in innings pitched (49), tied for the SBC lead in wins (5) and fifth in walks allowed (9).
