Head coach Nick Brochu:
- On the team's final-day performance:
"What a way to close a tournament. We had a meeting before everything started this morning. I told the guys that we've been playing amazing, but it's not how you start, it's how you finish. We needed to focus and keep pushing. I know everybody is in pain and aching. We've played a lot of tennis in three days, but we need to push through.
"We started with doubles and had a big final on the A draw. Jack and Louis got broken right away in the first game. I told him to keep the pressure on them. I know you are going to break him at least once, and we did. We got a big break later in the match. Everybody kept serves, and then we got to the tiebreaker. There are just a few points here and there to make a difference. We started playing very conservative and aggressive tennis. We made sure that we're putting pressure on them, and we didn't lose another point. That was a big win for the boys. Now, they're champions of the tournament in doubles. That was great.
"Séb and Max, were playing for third place and took care of business and beat Southern Miss. Then we moved into singles, and the main event was Séb. He was in the final of the A row. It was tough, and he was playing a good player from LSU. By playing this tournament in Louisiana, 95 percent of the crowd was cheering for LSU. Séb stayed focused, and he played some exceptional tennis, almost flawless. He's a champ of the tournament.
"Max beat a player from LSU who he had lost to in regionals. It was a little bit of payback, and I am proud of him. Max took care of his draw.
"Jack played for third place and lost but fought hard and took the guy to the limit. Louis took care of business and beat the number one guy from Louisiana.
"We played some exceptional tennis this weekend. I couldn't ask for a better weekend. These four guys played hard, and we won 18 out of 21 matches. That is phenomenal. I am very proud of those guys, and now we need to rest. We have one more tournament left, but that was a great celebration for those guys."
