MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama men's and women's basketball teams will gear up for the 2022-23 season with Madness at The Mitch on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Center on the campus of the University of South Alabama. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the general public, and admission is FREE! 

Madness at The Mitch is a preseason event that will feature a slam dunk contest, a three-point contest, fan participation contests, a spirit squad performance and much more! One lucky fan will also have the opportunity to win $50,000 if selected as the contestant for the money shot contest. The contestant will be drawn at random. To enter the drawing, fans must pick up a ticket at the north or south entrances. In order to go home with the $50,000 grand prize, the money shot contestant will be required to make a layup, a free throw, a three-pointer, and a half-court shot in 25 seconds or less.

South Alabama Basketball t-shirts will be given away to students at the doors while supplies last. South Alabama students will also have the opportunity to win door prizes throughout the night. Students can enter the drawing for door prizes by picking up a ticket at the fan engagement tables at the north and south entrances. Students must present a valid South Alabama student ID in order to enter the drawing. Students must also be present at the time of the drawing in order to win a door prize. Door prizes include exclusive Jaguar Basketball gear, three chances to win $150 worth of Jag Bucks, bookstore gift cards and more!
