Head coach Nick Brochu:
"Today was a good day. We started with doubles, Jack and Louis playing the second round of the main draw, and they really took it to their opponents. We started very strong and very explosive. We played big on big points and stayed aggressive on them. It was good, and we served well. The guys did extremely well. I'm very proud of them.
Jack had a tough first round of singles, and he lost in three sets. It was a hard one for him, but he hasn't been able to practice much lately because of his injury. I think it caught up with him. You could tell that some of the shots he can usually do with his eyes closed, he missed by a few inches here and there, and I think that's what made the difference in the end. He definitely had his chances, but had a few mistakes. I am still proud of him. He fought really hard, and I can't wait to have him back. It was a good tournament for him.
Then we have Séb who played some tremendous tennis. He played so clutch on deuce points, big deciding points. He played big and was amazing. He dropped the first set, but his opponent was just in the zone. I told him to keep it up because this guy cannot keep playing like this the entire match. It was surreal, and Séb just stayed strong, made sure he served well, stayed in the match, and eventually got the break. He played a phenomenal second set and turned it around completely. In the third set, he got the break early. After that, all he had to do was hold serve, and his opponent was coming at him with everything he had and had to save about four breakpoints, including the last game. The last point was the best point of the match and Séb played amazing. That was some high-level tennis. It was a long match, long three sets but I am very proud of him, and I am looking forward to tomorrow."
