THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
- On Florida State:
"It's a big weekend for us. We are going to play three matches in pretty much 24 hours. I think, physically, we are doing pretty good. We have been training hard in the fall and since the guys came back from Christmas break. The biggest match is going to be against Florida State. Florida State is probably going to be in the top-25 this year. They have a ton of depth and it is just going to be six on six. That is how we have to look at and each guy has to take care of his own court. If we started looking at the overall picture, it might be overwhelming playing Florida State. But, when you look at it as one on one and take each match one at a time, that is how we have a chance. In the past we have came close to beating them, with a couple of 4-3 matches and that is how we approach the match. We are going to have to go out there and play big but at the same time be ourselves. If we try to go out there and play bigger and more aggressive than we usually do, that will backfire."

- On Samford and Stetson:
"The other two matches, Stetson and Samford, we haven't played Stetson in a couple of years. So, it's great to see them again. These are two good teams and are two teams that are looking forward to playing us. On paper, we might be favored but paper doesn't mean anything. What is going to be very important in those two matches is getting the doubles point. If we can get the doubles point and gain the momentum, we can establish ourselves in singles and keep the momentum going. If they take the doubles point, then that can give them some confidence and we will have to counterpunch and take control of the match. We just need to be strategic on our pairs and teams in doubles. Overall, I'm looking forward to this weekend."
