JAGUAR CROSS COUNTRY HEADS TO SOUTH REGION PREVIEW

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's and women's cross country team will compete for the second straight week as the Jaguars travel to the northern part of the state to participate in the South Region Preview hosted by the University of Alabama at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park in Huntsville, Ala.

NOTES
- Friday will mark South's first participation at the South Region Preview.
- John Hunt Cross Country Running Park will also serve as the site of the NCAA South Regional Championships scheduled for Nov. 12.
- In their season-opening meet last weekend, the Jaguar men took the top six spots and all seven runners finished ninth or better, to win the Azalea City Classic.
- Kirami Yego paced the field and set a new personal best in the men's 5k as he crossed the line with a time of 15:18.2.
- For his performance, Yego was selected as the Sun Belt Conference Runner of the Week – his second career league weekly honor – on Wednesday.
- Including his fifth-place finish at the Azalea City, Onesmus Kemboi has finished inside the top 10 in 14 of his 21 career races. He has also placed inside the top 15 18 times during his collegiate career.
- On the women's side Adele Magaud earned her first career victory at the Azalea City, while helping the Jaguars finish second as a team.
- Among the 21-team field, Alabama (No. 7) and Ole Miss (No. 15) enter the meet nationally ranked on the women's side, while the Rebel men are ranked 18th.
- On the men's side, four teams rank among the top 10 regional rankings, while on the women's side, nine teams from the top 15 of the regional rankings are slated to run on Friday.
