Head Coach Richard Moodie
On leadership from the forwards: "Morgan Cross did really well towards the end of the fall and in the spring. She's someone I think that's getting better and better over the course of her career here. Former Jag Briana Morris' and Morgan's career look very similar side-by-side and I think Morgan is gearing up to have one of her best seasons. She's someone that's capable of scoring more goals and winning games like she did during the tournament last season by taking important moments and making them hers. She's matured a lot off the field and as a person, and we're excited for this season with her. Kailey Littleford is a special player – she's fast and unpredictable and scored some important goals at Georgia State last season as a freshman. Coming back this year, I think she will pick up where she left off."

On the forward's role: "We need a top goal-scorer from them. Every year we've been successful we've seen the scoring leader come from that position. We need a 10-plus goal scorer on the team this year. If you're going to be successful you've got to have that player in your locker room."

On the forward position's strength: "We're returning two student-athletes that have proven they can score goals and win games in the Sun Belt. Morgan is tricky and creative and Kailey's speed alone sets her apart from the rest of the conference. Their knowledge of where to find each other in the final third is very good. Their strength lies in their decision-making and goal-scoring ability."

On the newcomers: "There's a lot to be said about this group but we need to get them on the field this week and see."

Morgan Cross
On the upcoming season: "I'm excited. We have a lot of new teammates coming in so that's always very exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing how they will mix together with the team. We also want to complete the 'three-peat'."

On her personal goals: "As a new captain, I want to develop my leadership abilities and communication both on and off the field. I want to score goals and contribute however I can."

On the newcomers: "They're all really nice and they're excited to get started."

Monique Gray
On her personal goals: "I want to work the team and grow as a player, I hope to get to a higher level with them."

On the transition to South Alabama: "The transition has been good. The team has been nice and I feel like South is going to be a great home for me."
