MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama soccer will host Southeastern Louisiana for Senior Night at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday at The Cage in Mobile, Ala.
SERIES HISTORY:
South Alabama is 10-1-1 overall against SLU, with their last match a 3-1 victory on Aug. 31, 2025, at The Cage. The Jags boast a five-match winning streak over the Lions.
SCOUTING THE JAGS (1-4-1):
- South Alabama hosts Southeastern Louisiana after a 1-0 deficit to Ole Miss on Thursday. The Jags held the Rebels to a season-low three shots on goal.
- The Jags seek to defend their seven-match unbeaten streak at The Cage, their last loss against Mississippi State on Sept. 7, 2025.
- Mackenzie Smith ranks in the national top five in saves per game, averaging eight.
SCOUTING THE LIONS (5-1-0):
- SLU travels to Mobile after a 3-1 victory over Southern on Thursday.
- The Lions rank second in the Southland Conference in goal differential (7), points per game (6.50), scoring offense (2.50), total goals (15) and total points (39).
- SLU is led by Nathan Gillespie, who is in his fifth year at the helm. Brooke Opferman and Alex Knight lead the Lions' attack with three goals, and Kendall Curran has 13 saves for the season.
