QUOTED:
Head Coach Chris Hennessey:
  • "The character of the team has been phenomenal. If you're not getting the result, you can start to question a lot of things. They've stuck with it, they've worked hard, they showed up today and they got a result in the second game of the weekend. I'm proud of the group, and now hopefully we can kick on, start moving forward and keep this momentum going."
Victoria Rocci, Defender:
  • "I was so excited when I scored. As soon as I saw the ball dropping, I had to go for a goal. I was so happy. It felt surreal. My family's in the crowd, so I was so excited."
Ava Arroyo, Forward:
  • On the win: "It feels amazing to finally get a win. We've been working so hard, and I'm super glad that our hard work paid off this time."
  • On her goal: "I was so focused on going straight to the goal. I'd been wanting to get a goal for the longest time, and I'm so proud of myself. It's a great feeling."

UP NEXT:
The Jags will conclude non-conference play by hosting Rice at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at The Cage in Mobile, Ala.
