INDIANAPOLIS – The University of South Alabama men's tennis programs had three student-athletes finish the season ranked in the top 100 as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday afternoon.
Clément Marzol is ranked No. 83, while Julien Evrard is ranked No. 92 in singles action. The Jaguars are only two from the Sun Belt Conference who are ranked in the top 125.
Marzol recorded 86 singles victories in his career as a Jaguar. The Toulouse, France, native finished the season with an overall 18-4 record, with eight of those victories coming at the No. 2 position.
Evrard concluded his season with an overall 19-8 singles record after his first NCAA appearance against No. 41 Martim Prata of No.3 Tennessee in round 64 of the NCAA Division I Singles Championship at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. on May 23.
Doubles pair Loïc Cloes and Marzol climbed to No. 24 in the ITA rankings after their impressive performances at the NCAA Doubles Championship May 24-26 in Orlando, Fla. The two Jaguars earned the first NCAA victory of their careers as a pair after defeating formerly-ranked No. 28 Johannes Ingildsen and Will Grant of No. 2 Florida 6-1, 6-2, advancing to round 16 of the NCAA Doubles Championship. The duo later made Jaguar history after beating Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel of No. 5 UCF 7-5, 6-4, being the first Jags to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Cloes and Marzol closed out the season with an overall 12-3 doubles record.
