South Alabama owns a 3-2 all-time lead over Southern in a series that began in 1987. USA took two of three games from SU in 2016, which marked the last meeting between the schools. South Alabama is 2-1 all-time against Southern under head coach Mark Calvi.

JAGS IN TOP 3 NATIONALLY IN SACRIFICE BUNTS
South Alabama enters the week ranked third nationally in sacrifice bunts with 32. Kaleb DeLaTorre leads the Sun Belt Conference and ranks seventh in the nation with seven sacrifice bunts.

JAGUAR PITCHING STAFF IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Jaguar pitching staff leads the Sun Belt Conference and ranks 12th nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (7.20). Jaguar opponents have recorded 10 or more hits in just one of the last 18 games, which dates back to March 16 against Soutern Miss. Little Rock posted 11 hits in the April 11 series finale in Little Rock, Ark. USA also leads the Sun Belt in WHIP (1.20), which ranks 17th nationally.

JAG DEFENSE ROLLING OVER LAST 10-PLUS GAMES
The Jags committed one error in Monday's series finale with Louisiana, which snapped a five-game errorless streak. USA has been charged with just two errors in its last 11 games, dating back to March 30 at LSU, and is fielding .995 with nine double plays during that stretch. 

LEHRMANN LAST TIME OUT
Jaguar left-hander Tyler Lehrmann tossed a career-high seven shutout innings and struck out five against two walks in last week's 4-0 shutout at Southern Miss. Lehrmann combined with right-hander Miles Smith to shut out Southern Miss for the first time since 1983. 

ON-BASE STREAKS AT STANKY FIELD
Hunter Stokes and Cameron Tissue each enters Wednesday's contest with a nine-game on-base streak in home games, followed by Kaleb DeLaTorre and Reid Powers at six games each.

TWO-OUT RBIs
South Alabama has recorded 62 two-out RBIs this season, which accounts for 41 percent of its 150 total RBIs. Santi Montiel leads the team with 12 two-out RBIs, followed by Hunter Stokes with 10. 

JAGS WHEN OUTHITTING THE OPPOSITION
South Alabama is 12-0 when outhitting the opposition this season, 4-9 when getting outhit and 4-4 when hits are tied. 

ALLOWING FIVE OR LESS
South Alabama is 19-4 this season when allowing five runs or less, but is 1-9 when opponents score six or more. 

SMITH, PEREZ AT NIGHT
Jaguar right-hander Miles Smith is 1-0 with two saves and a 0.00 ERA in six appearances, including one start, in night games this season. Smith has recorded 13 strikeouts against five walks and combined for three shutouts in 18.0 innings pitched at night. Right-hander Tyler Perez has posted a 2.00 ERA in four appearances in night games, and struck out 10 batters without issuing a walk in nine total innings in those contests.

RUNS ALLOWED OVER FINAL THREE INNINGS
South Alabama has allowed 59 total runs in the final three innings, excluding extra-inning contests of games this season, while allowing 84 total runs in the first six innings of games. USA has allowed four runs in extra innings this season, and is 2-2 in extra-inning contests.

WILSON IN NIGHT GAMES
Ethan Wilson is batting a team-best .367 with four doubles, two triples, one home run, 13 RBIs, seven runs scored, two stolen bases and a .475 on-base percentage in 13 night games this season. He has hit safely in four consecutive night games entering Wednesday's contest.

WILSON NAMED TO GOLDEN SPIKES AWARD WATCH LIST
Ethan Wilson was selected to the 2021 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List, marking the second straight season he has been named to the list. 

WILSON NAMED PRESEASON SBC PLAYER OF THE YEAR, ALL-AMERICA
Ethan Wilson was named the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year, marking the second straight season he was voted the league's top player in preseason voting. Wilson was also named Baseball America First-Team Preseason All-America, and Third-Team Preseason All-America by D1Baseball.

WILSON NAMED TO BOBBY BRAGAN COLLEGIATE SLUGGER AWARD WATCH LIST
Ethan Wilson was named to 2021 Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award watch list, which honors the nation's top collegiate hitter, earlier this season. He was one of 48 student-athletes named to the watch list, and the lone Sun Belt Conference representative.
