The Tigers are currently riding a three-game win streak with the two most recent victories coming on the road at Louisville and Tuscaloosa. For the spring campaign, Auburn has lost one match, a 1-0 result against #9 Clemson in Clemson, S.C. on March 6, and has played to one goalless draw against LSU on Feb. 26.

The Jaguars defeated Columbus State 3-1 last time on the pitch with the match being the inaugural soccer game played in Hancock Whitney Stadium. After following behind in the first half, South pocketed three goals in the second half to pick up the win.

After the teams play, South Alabama will conclude its spring season the following week at Oxford, Miss., against Ole Miss and Auburn will meet with Virginia Tech on a neutral field in Bradenton, Fla., on April 16.

NOTES
- Jaguar Head Coach Richard Moodie picked up his 99th win as a head coach in women's soccer following the 3-1 result from Columbus State's match in Hancock Whitney Stadium.
- In the all-time South Alabama coaches' standings, Moodie is the third coach to reach 50 wins. Moodie's predecessor Graham Winkworth notched 66 wins at the helm during his four years, and Mike Varga registered 121 wins, the most in program history.
- As a head coach, that is win number 159, with 60 wins coming from CN men's soccer.
- The 2020 Jaguars have surpassed last season's assists (43 in 18 matches) in four fewer games. The total stands at 53 after 20 matches.
- To this point in the season, this team has scored the second most amount of goals (46) during Coach Moodie's tenure (50; 2019) and that stands as the 11th most in a single season in program history.
- Brenna McPartlan added a goal and an assist against Columbus State pushing her point total to 31 for the season.
- Moving up the rankings, the junior is in sole possession of 11th for all-time points at South Alabama, fourth for game-winning goals

- Deanna Green extended her consecutive start streak to 21 with her 77th appearance, which is the highest on the active roster just outside the top 20 all-time. Should Green appear in every contest through the end of spring, the senior will reach 80 games, which will be 16th on the list.
- Green, McPartlan and Tilly Wilkes have ascended to the top 20 of minutes played in program history. Green is the top ranked of the trio at the 11th all-time position with 5,982 minutes on the pitch.

THEY SAID IT
Head coach Richard Moodie

- Looking back to the weekend: "Just take the positives out of the game, work on the negatives and keep plugging on. For every bad moment on the weekend there was equally a good moment. For us, it's focus on the good. Let's see if we can improve in certain areas before the Auburn game. I'm proud of what we accomplished over the weekend. We went into an environment we've never played in, we trained in it twice, we were playing against a Division II opponent but not just any D-II opponent but a top-ranked one and a lot of factors on the day, but we got a win and we will move on. The opportunity to play in the stadium is something that will stick with them and I hope we get to do it again."

- On the state of the team: "We're not the same team we were in the fall. We're a new team and a new us with a new opportunity. We have got to see so many things this spring that traditionally we don't get to see in a spring season.  In terms of tactics, I believe we're really far ahead. I know we have a really good team, but in terms of the individual, it depends on who shows up on the day. We can do tactics and X's and O's but a lot comes down to motivating your players. Generally, the goal for us as a group, as a staff, as captains, as freshman and as upperclassmen is to motivate each other to keep going. It's been a long year and it takes a toll on the body and the mind, and we just need to keep pushing through the finish line."
