KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches named South Alabama's Amelia Campanella a Defender to Watch, the organization announced Monday. Campanella was one of three Sun Belt players to receive the recognition.

United Soccer Coaches' Players to Watch lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season in August. The lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and All-Region players from 2025 who are scheduled to return for the 2026 season.

Campanella put up a notable performance in the 2025 campaign, earning All-Sun Belt Third Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Fourth Team honors. She also led a back line that ranked nationally in shutout percentage (7th, .611) and goals-against average (16th, .659).

The senior from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada enters her fourth year in Mobile, having competed in 45 matches across 3,522 minutes in three years.
