THEY SAID IT
Head coach Nick Brochu
- On this week's matches: "We're looking forward to having a good week. Unfortunately, we had one of our matches get canceled, but nonetheless, we still have two very challenging matches. We're going to start with Central Florida. They're having a tremendous year being top 20 in the country so, this match may be one of the toughest matches we have this year. It's a good challenge, and they have an unbelievable facility, but we need to look past that and get ready for our matches. We've played them every year, and we've had some very close matches. They have some really good players. We're going there to get four points and not win every single match so, if we have that approach, then we defineitly have a chance. We're getting there the day before so we can practice, get used to the facility and all of the other distractions out there. Last year when we played them, we won the doubles point, and that was a lot of momentum for us. I feel that we are stronger and more stable than last year, so if we win the doubles point, it's definitely going to help us.
Then we're going to move down to Boca to play FAU, so it's going to be good to have a day in between to recover and practice. We played FAU earlier this year, and things didn't go our way. Now we're about a month later, and hopefully, we've made some adjustments, and the team will be a little more relaxed playing them again. We're starting to build up a good rivalry with FAU since we've played them, so it's going to be good to be down there and competing at a high level."
