NEW ORLEANS, La. – Julien Evrard of the University of South Alabama men's tennis team was named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Evard recorded his second consecutive win over a ranked opponent in singles action Sunday afternoon as the Lille, France, native, defeated 36th ranked Giovanni Oradini of Mississippi State in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 6-2) at the No. 1 position. His victory was the second point in singles play for the Jaguars during the day.

He also knocked off 122nd ranked Maxime Lapraille of Florida Atlantic in three sets (6-4, 6-7(6), 6-4) in South Alabama's home opener last Sunday.

Evrard was 3-0 at No. 1 singles and has won 10 of his last 13 matches this season.  He is currently the only Jaguar to remain undefeated in singles action this spring.

Evrard and the rest of his Jaguar teammates will return to action this weekend as they travel to Birmingham, Ala. to face UAB on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Samford on Sunday at 1 p.m.
