THEY SAID IT
Head coach Nick Brochu
- On the player's performance in doubles: "It was a good first day of the tournament. We had a slow start in doubles and that maybe cost the match at number one. When you play that early in the morning, the first few games when you returning, that's your best chance to break. We didn't take advantage of that. By the end of the doubles, our opponents started getting into a good rhythm and playing much better. We came close to breaking at the end but, credit to our opponents closing it out. Louis [Delcour] and Jack [Clements] did great in doubles. They closed it the way they should have and played a good game. Overall, in doubles it wasn't bad but we have to work on getting off to quicker start tomorrow.
- On the player's performance in singles: "In singles, the guys were aggressive right from the beginning. Lipscomb is a good team, so they were grinding a lot. I was very happy with the way we competed and the way that we played. I think in maybe two matches, we had a slow start and we had to go the distance in three sets. I think we are learning. I'm very happy with our younger guys and think they are doing very good. The more they play, the better they will get. Overall, it was a great day and we are looking for stronger doubles play."
