NEW ORLEANS – Junior Olivia "Tilly" Wilkes was named this week's Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week. This was the first time the 2020 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year had been selected this season, but the Preston, England, native earned the distinction twice during the 2019 campaign for the weeks of Sept. 17 and Oct. 15.

Over the weekend, the left-footed left back earned one assist over two matches. Wilkes and the defense also kept one clean sheet over the pair of games. The junior was on the pitch for all 180 minutes of both contests.

Wilkes has started every game for the Jags since the start of the 2019 season. This year she scored one goal this year, the game-winning goal against rival Troy in double-overtime, and collected the aforementioned assist.
