JAG WOMEN’S GOLF TO OPEN PLAY AT HOOVER INVITATIONAL



MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's golf team will compete at the Hoover Invitational at Hoover Country Club Sept. 21-22 in Hoover, Ala.

TEE SHOTS 
- Hovland earned individual medalist honors at the USA Intercollegiate, held Sept. 5-7 at Robert Trent Jones' Magnolia Grove Crossings Course in Mobile, after setting a new program record for the lowest three-round tournament score. Hovland posted a three-round, 12-under par total of 204, shooting under par in each round, including a 6-under par 66 in the final round that tied Elin Andersson (2005) and Siti Shaari (2019) for the lowest single round in program history.
- May enters the tournament coming off of her first career top-20 finish after finishing tied for 20th at the USA Intercollegiate where she played par-five holes at 3-under par over three rounds.
- South Alabama has earned back-to-back top-five finishes dating back to last year's UNF Collegiate (March 9-10) in Jacksonville, Fla. The Jaguars finished in second place at the USA Intercollegiate after a 3-over par team total of 867 in three rounds.
- Berge will play as the five in the lineup, while Mattner will play individually. Berge played individually at the USA Intercollegiate while Mattner played in the five spot of the lineup.
- Shaari played par fives at 2-under par at the USA Intercollegiate, where she finished in sixth place. Shaari has earned a top-10 finish in six of her last seven tournaments dating back to the start of the 2019-20 season.
