THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
- On Friday's performance at the Buck Bouldin Battle of the Boro: "Today was a very competitive day, but we played great tennis. Even though we lost all three doubles, we felt that we were very competitive and played high-level tennis. This weekend was more difficult than last weekend. MSTU has great doubles teams and we dropped a couple of matches. In singles, we executed the game plan very well, and we played hard in every single match. We had to move indoors due to the weather. The last set had to be a super tiebreaker, and that's hard because the match can go either way."
- On the players' performance: "Clément [Marzol] pulled out big a win at 13-11 in singles. He saved three match points, and that was high-level tennis. Julien [Evrard] is starting to feel more comfortable on the courts, and that showed in the second set when he was more aggressive and more dominant. He's a force to be reckoned with. Sébastien [Collard] was solid at Mercer, and he was on the same track today, as he was solid in every aspect of the game. Martin [Bugaj] played a very great match. He was serving for the first set, and he was playing a player who brought so many balls back in, but Martin showed great effort. Philip [Bosman] was relaxed on the courts and was being more of himself. It got a little tight at the end, but we were able to close the match and seal the deal. Overall, we are happy with today and are very excited to get back into action tomorrow morning."
