NEW ORLEANS – After picking up her second individual title of the season this past week, University of South Alabama cross country runner Carolien Millenaar was named the Female Sun Belt Conference Runner of the Week for the second time this season on Thursday as announced by the league office.

The honor marks the fourth weekly league accolade of Millenaar's career as she was twice selected as the top runner in the conference during the 2019 season in addition to the two selections this season.

Millenaar's selection also marks the 18th time a women's runner at South has earned the award. The four career weekly conference selections are now tied for the most by a Jaguar runner on the women's side, matching Rebecca Beverly's program mark. Millenaar and Beverly are the only two South runners to earn the honor twice in a season, and the Jag senior is the only one to do it in two different seasons.

The 5-foot-8 Sørvad, Denmark, native Millenaar set a new 5k personal best last Friday at the FSU Invitational held at Appalachee Regional Park crossing the line with a time of 17:34.0 to earn her second title in as many races this fall in the Women's Open race. The win was not only the second this fall for Millenaar, but the fourth of her career as she helped the Jag women finish third out of 10 teams at the meet. She has now finished 11th or better in six of her last seven races.
