MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama track and field program will host the Jaguar Invitational Sunday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. This will be the third straight weekend of competition for the men's and women's track and field programs.

NOTES
- Rickssen Opont set a personal best and program record this past weekend in the shot put. His throw of 16.90m currently ranks as the top mark in the Sun Belt Conference this season.Â
- Autavia Fluker's performance in the shot put was also personal record and broke her previous program record with a throw of 15.47m at the Bob Pollock Invitational.Â
- Three student-athletes registered top 5 all-time performances this past weekend: Hunter Appling (8:01, second) 60m hurdles, Harry Barthelemy (2.05m, second) high jump and Carolien Millenaar (9:50.72, fourth) 3000m.
- Three Jaguars currently hold the top marks in the Sun Belt Conference this year in their respective events: Christian Ellis (triple jump, 15.44m), Noah Mumme (pole vault, 5.00m) and Opont (shot put, 16.90m).
- This will mark the second time this indoor season that the Jags have competed at the Birmingham CrossPlex. They are slated to compete at the venue twice more including the Sun Belt Indoor Conference Championships.
- The competition will begin at 12:10 p.m. with the women's high jump. Running events are scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. with the women's mile.Â

- On the Jaguar Invitational: "We are moving into our third meet at the CrossPlex. Generally speaking, we are making steady progress as a team. This week I want to see that trend continue. We want to see more personal best performances and we want to see some of our younger athletes step up and show us what they can do."
