NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama's Autavia Fluker has been voted the Sun Belt Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

It's the third time since the start of the 2019 season that the redshirt senior from Bessemer, Ala., has earned the recognition, and the sixth time overall during that span including outdoor competition.

Last weekend, Fluker placed in the top three in both the shot put and weight throw at the season-opening Samford Invite.  Her 15.28m mark in the shot — good for third in the final event standings — was the best in the Sun Belt over the weekend, while she ended up second in the weight throw with a 17.86m toss that is third in the league overall and was the second-best effort in the event last week.

She currently stands among the top 50 in the nation in the shot put after the performance at Samford.

Fluker and the Jaguars will be back in action this weekend at Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational, which is scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday.
