MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's golf team will compete at the Golfweek Women's Conference Challenge in Wolcott, Colo., Sept. 23-25 at Red Sky Golf Club's Fazio Course.
The three-day, 54-hole event will consist of 18 teams competing from 18 different conferences on the Fazio Course, which will play at a par of 72 from 6,309 yards. Live scoring for each round will be available through Golfstat.com, and can also be accessed through the Jaguar women's golf schedule page at USAJaguars.com.
South Alabama finished 13th out of a 16-team field in last weekend's USA Intercollegiate, which was held at RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove's Crossings Course in Mobile. Siti Shaari finished tied for fifth in the first event of the season with a three-round, 2-under par total of 214. Julie Hovland earned a top-15 finish, ending the tournament tied for 13th place with a three-round total of 3-over par 219.
The Jaguar lineup will consist of Shaari playing in the one spot, followed by Hovland, Caroline Berge, Belinda May and Carlota Garcia.
UCLA won last year's Golfweek Conference Challenge with a tournament-record team total of 17-under par 832, while the Bruins' Mariel Galdiano won individual medalist honors last year with a three-round, 13-under par total of 203, which also set a tournament record.
