NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama senior Sean Collins was voted the Sun Belt Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced Wednesday by the league office.
 
Collins holds the 12th-best pole vault mark in the nation this season after clearing 5.44m (17-10.25) to win the Southern Miss Open event. The Mobile native leads the Sun Belt and ranks fourth in the NCAA East Region. He has taken the top spot in five of the six pole vault events he has entered this season. 
 
The Jaguars will compete in the Sun Belt Outdoor Conference Championships May 10-12 in Jonesboro, Ark.
