JAGUARS MEN’S TENNIS PLAYERS LAND MULTIPLE ALL-SUN BELT HONORS

NEW ORLEANS — The University of South Alabama men's tennis team has three singles players and one doubles team named to either the first or second All-Sun Belt teams as announced by the league office on Wednesday, April 17. 

In singles, Loic Cloes was named to the All-Sun Belt first team, while Clement Marzol and Sacha Modica were honored with selections to the All-Sun Belt second team. Cloes, a junior, was also named as the conference's Player to Watch. 

The No. 68 ranked doubles pair of Cloes and Marzol were one of three teams selected to the All-Sun Belt first team. It marks the second year in a row the duo was named to the first team. 

Cloes, a native of Oreye, Belgium, compiled an 18-8 record between the fall and the spring. He went 5-0 in conference play and finished the season on a 12 match winning streak. As doubles partners, Cloes and Marzol, participated in the 2018 ITA National Fall Championships and made it all the way to the championship match of the consolation round. The duo amassed an overall record of 16-11, and went 7-7 during the spring season. 

Marzol, a junior from Toulouse, France, played to the tune of a 15-11 overall record and went 10-6 during the spring season. Playing primarily on court two fro the Jags, he went 2-2 in Sun Belt play. Modica was a staple on court one for the Jaguars this season. The senior from London, England went 17-8 during the fall and spring, and played to a 10-6 mark in the spring. He went 6-5 on court one and 4-1 on number two.
