MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's basketball head coach Terry Fowler has finalized the dates for his three girls' basketball camps in June. The Team Play Dates will be on June 6th, 7th, and 14th, FUNdamentals and Shooting Camp will run from June 10th-13th. There are two dates for College Prep Camp. Camp 1 will take place on June 15th with Camp 2 taking place on August 24th.
The Team Play Dates are for varsity and JV Teams, all three days start and end times are to be determined. The cost is $275 per team for a single day or $225 per day if the team is registering for multiple days. If you bring your varsity and JV team for one day the total coast is $450. There is a 12-player limit and with each additional player requiring a $25 fee that can be collected at check-in, or online.
The FUNdamental and Shooting Camp will teach the basic fundamentals needed to play basketball for 3-8 grades. Footwork, shooting, ball-handling, passing and playing within team concepts along with competitive situations are thoroughly covered throughout the week of camp. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will run from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. If you register before June 1st, the cost is $125 as an early bird discount and registering after June 1st the cost will be $150.
College Prep Camp will give any player in grades 9-12 an opportunity to experience the effort, energy and focus needed to consistently compete on the college level. This camp is designed for those who aspire to play at the collegiate level. The camp will start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The cost of is $50.
All three camps will be at the Striplin Practice Facility or Jag Gym located next to the Mitchell Center. Both gyms have been renovated in the past year. The camps will be directly run by Coach Fowler along with his coaching staff. The Jaguars student-athletes will serve as camp counselors.
There is a discount offered for the FUNdamentals and Shooting camp only. The discount is for University of South Alabama employees, and a separate offer for siblings of camp participants. A 10 percent discount applies to University employees. For the sibling discount, the first member of a family will pay full price with any additional siblings getting a 25 percent discount.
