MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Women's Basketball will compete against UAB for the program's road opener at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
SERIES HISTORY:
The Jaguars are 14-30 against the Blazers, their last result a 61-77 deficit on Nov. 8, 2019, in the Magic City.
SCOUTING THE JAGS:
- The Jags enter Saturday's matchup after defeating Akron 87-63 in The Mitch on Monday. Cordasia Harris led South, scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
- South Alabama had two double-figure rebounders against the Zips, the first time since Nov. 19, 2023. Cordasia Harris recorded 13, and Diawna Carter-Hartley recorded 10.
- Monday's 24-point victory marked the Jags' largest win over a G-5 opponent since a 34-point victory over ULM on Feb. 8, 2020.
- Jaguar Women's Hoops is averaging a 41.4 FG%, a 27.3 3PT% and a 75.0 FT%.
SCOUTING THE BLAZERS:
- The Blazers enter their second home contest of the season after losing their season opener to West Alabama on Monday, 59-62.
- UAB had three double-digit scorers against the Tigers, each with 12 points (Eleecia Carter, Molly Moffitt and Cali Smallwood).
- The Blazers finished last season with an even 16-16 overall record, losing to UIC in the opening round of the WNIT.
