Three Times A Charm?
The Jaguars enter this season coming off a school-record 25 wins and their second national postseason tournament appearance in as many years after advancing to the second round of the WNIT; it was the second straight campaign in which the Jags won 20-plus contests, the first time that has happened since 2007-08 and '08-09 seasons.  Should South win 20 or more games again this winter, it would mark the first time in school history that the program would reach that plateau in three consecutive seasons.

Tremendous Trio
All three Jags who averaged in double figures a year ago — senior Shaforia Kines, and juniors Savannah Jones and Antoinette Lewis — are back this season, with each member of the trio within 200 points of recording 1,000 in their career.  South hasn't had a pair of 1,000-point scorers active at the same time since the 1988-89 campaign, when the duo of Adrian Vickers and Ella Williams helped lead the Jaguars an 18-11 finish, a 5-1 mark in the Sun Belt Conference and a berth in the championship game of the league tournament.  USA has had two active players with 1,000-plus points on two other occasions, during the 1984-85 (LaSandra Jenkins and Annette Williams) and '86-87 (Orphie Moore and Denise Adams) seasons, but never in the program's history have three individuals to accomplish the feat played together.

On Target
Jones enters the year as the Jaguars' all-time leader in both three-point field goal and free-throw percentages with marks of 41.3 and 82.7, respectively.  In addition to being on track to score her 1,000th career point this winter, the redshirt junior needs just 15 threes to move to the top of the career record list in that category as well.

Torrid Pace
In just two years, Lewis already ranks among the top 10 all-time in two statistical categories in USA's record book with a 54.8 field-goal percentage (second) and 107 blocks (sixth).  Should she continue at her current rate, Lewis is on track to become just the third individual in program history — Vickers and Moore, both member's of the school's Athletic Hall of Fame, are the others — to surpass 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 100 blocked shots in a career.
