MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama sophomore Emilie Berge and junior Sean Collins will travel to Eugene, Ore. for the NCAA Division I Championships to be held Wednesday through Saturday.

She was an automatic qualifier after scoring 5,632 points to set a new Jaguar and Sun Belt Conference record at the league championships. This is Collins' second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division I Championships. He finished eighth overall in the 2017 men's pole vault competition, clearing a height of 5.45m (17-10.50). His 2018 season-best effort came at Auburn's Tiger Track Classic with a 5.50m (18-00.50) vault.
The men's pole vault begins Wednesday at 3 p.m. The heptathlon starts Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the 100m hurdles and will conclude Saturday at 3:13 p.m. with the 800m.

QUOTES FROM COACH BRUESKE
On Berge and Collins' seasons… "We had a lot of athletes who had outstanding, record-breaking seasons this year. Sean and Emilie are definitely at the forefront for us as a program. They're both winners. They've both had some injuries that they've overcome and they're doing some remarkable things right now."
On both student-athletes holding Sun Belt records in their respective events… "You've got two conference record-holders, adding to the others this team has had – Jan-Louw Kotze, Renaldo Frechou, etc. – they're just carrying on the tradition. It's great. Any time you can have people who are the best ever in the Sun Belt Conference and among the best in the NCAA, that's something to be proud of."
