WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ADDS EMERALD HART TO 2018-19 ROSTER

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama women's basketball head coach Terry Fowler announced Tuesday that junior college transfer Emerald Hart will be added to the Jags roster for the 2018-19 season.

Hart, who played two years at Northwest Kansas Technical College, will have two years of eligibility remaining and will be immediately eligible to play for South.

"We are excited to have Emerald as part of our program," Fowler said. "She brings athleticism and versatility to our roster. She averaged 15 points a night in Kansas. She rebounds the basketball and brings some things we were lacking. We are excited to have her join the family."

As a sophomore, Hart averaged 14.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in 21 games played for the Mavericks. Hart also had 15 games of 10 or more points, including six with at least 20 points.

The Riviera Beach, Fla., native attended Palm Beach Gardens High School and helped lead her team to four 8A FHSAA state girls' basketball tournament appearances.
