THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
On the day and singles matches: "It was a crazy day today with the on and off rain. We went from outside to inside to go back outside and finish inside. Mentally it's tiring to keep switching environment, but the guys did good. They fought hard. Loic had a good battle this morning but got a little too anxious after the first set. Clem had a great match. The turning point of the match is when Clem saved a set point at 4-5 deuce. After that, he went on a streak. He showed a lot of toughness against this competitor from Oklahoma. Clem has to come back two hours later to battle again. He did great but ran out of juice in the 3rd set. It was his 8th match of the tournament. But I'm so proud of both players."
On doubles: " This loss hurts. We actually played better than them, but we couldn't finish the set. We had many break points in the first, including two set points. We also served for the set. Florida was tough and they never gave up. It's almost like it wasn't meant to be for us today. It hurts tremendously when you walk away with a loss but feel like you played better. Sometimes you need a little luck to help you. Nonetheless, I'm so proud of those two guys. They have learned a lot this week and represented South Alabama so well against all those power five schools."
