Head Coach Terry Fowler
- On Christen Carter: "Christen Carter got some valuable playing time last year. She's very smart and understands what's going on and we need leadership from her. We need her to do the things she's capable of doing, moving the basketball, ball screens and being an anchor on the defensive end."
-
On Kennedi Centers: "Kennedi Centers is back and seems to be healthier than she was last year. She's another kid who has the ability to be a playmaker out of that position by finding the open player. She can rebound and she takes charges. We need the consistency from her."
-
On adding Emerald Hart: "We added Emerald Hart, a junior college transfer, who averaged 14 points and seven rebounds a night. She has shown the ability to make open shots. She has to adapt to the system. It usually takes junior college players a semester or so to get up to speed in a new system. She was showing great progress prior to her injury. Hopefully we can get her back soon and she can pick up where she left off."
- On newcomer Jala Buster: "Freshman Jala Buster is also trying to learn the system and learn the college game. She's really talented. She has shown consistent effort every day and hopefully as the season goes along she has the ability to pick it up and find her way on the floor."
Christen Carter
- On goals for the upcoming season: "As a team to win the Sun Belt Championship this year. Personally, I just want to be a consistent competitor on the team and a strong leader."
-
On the forward group: "We are extremely competitive and quick. That helps on the defensive end. We changed our offense around so with the forwards we have more mobility and options to help contribute offensively."
-
On what she's working to improve for this season: "I want to be more of a threat offensively. I think defensively I've always been strong. I just want to help contribute to the team."
