TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – South Alabama men's tennis began action at the ITA Southern Regional with Sacha Modica and Samuel Serrano in qualifying singles Thursday.
 
First Round Qualifying Singles
- Both Modica and Serrano received byes into the second round.
 
Second Round Qualifying Singles
- Serrano picked up a victory in straight sets over Samford's Jack Lyttle 6-4, 6-1.
- Modica also took his match in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 over Michael Durham of Auburn.

On the day: "The guys played well today. They did what they had to do to win. We played solid and took care of the big points."
 
UP NEXT
Modica will continue singles action against Louisiana's Pearce Dolan, while Serrano will face Finn Reynolds of Ole Miss on Friday. The pair will also begin main draw doubles against Auburn's Brandon Laubser and Tad Maclean Friday.
