THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
Sunday's game at Appalachian State was originally scheduled for Sept. 14 but was postponed due to Hurricane Florence.

After scoring just one goal in a four-game stretch in September, the Jaguars have scored a goal in each of their last three games, a new season high.

Justice Stanford became the school's all-time leader in shutouts with 21 with a two-save performance Sept. 30 vs. Georgia Southern, breaking a four-way tie at the top spot. She also moved up to a tie for ninth in league history.

Stanford is in a tie for second in the Sun Belt in shutouts (4).

South Alabama's three conference losses tie the program's most since 2012.

All three of Brenna McPartlan's goals have come on set pieces. She currently leads the team in goals and points (8) after scoring the game winner in overtime at Arkansas State.

Morgan Cross recorded her second goal of the season Sunday at Little Rock, with both coming in the last three games. She is in a four-way tie on the team in goals and second in points (5).

USA is 54-9-4 in all games against Sun Belt teams since the start of the 2013 season.

South Alabama will be facing its second straight opponent that is coached by a former USA assistant. ULM head coach Keyton Wheelock served under Graham Winkworth from 2013-15.

ULM is 0-14 and ranks last in the Sun Belt in both goals per game (0.50) and goals against average (3.40).

Since a 7-2 loss to Georgia Southern, each of the Warhawks' last three losses were by one goal apiece.

The last three meetings between USA and ULM have all been decided by one goal. The 2015 contest in Monroe went to double overtime.

Appalachian State went 3-4-1 during its non-conference season, but is 4-1 since, with the lone loss a 1-0 decision to league-leader Texas State.

The Mountaineers are third in the Sun Belt in goals per game (1.46) but their leading goal scorers are Kat Greer and Blair Anderes with three apiece. Twelve different players have scored a goal; South Alabama has had eight hit the back of the net.

MOODIE'S QUOTES ON THE WEEKEND
On the final road weekend
: "We need to pick up points, get into the tournament and get our confidence where it needs to be. If you take a look at both games last weekend, you play worse in the Arkansas State game and win, and play better in the Little Rock game and lose. Two very bad and uncharacteristic mistakes from our players led to opportunities for Little Rock. We gifted them goals and we struggled to create. There are some positives to take out of it. Morgan Cross is coming into herself now. We're getting towards the end of the season so you're trying to keep that group of girls confident. I would like for us to finish above .500, so the focus is getting results. We've always told them that the process is more important than results, but truthfully now, it's more about getting results. Let's get the results we need to get a good seed in the tournament and let's go from there."

On keeping the team focused: "In the coaches' world that I live in, the regular-season title is way more meaningful than anything else. However, in the real world, it's not; the tournament is everything. I think it's out of reach, but we need to play like champions. We've taken losses well and overcome it. We're going to keep going and that's a true sign of a championship team. We've never rolled over and given up, and I'm proud of the girls for that. We've fought every minute of every game. I'm fuming about giving up a goal in the 87th minute at Little Rock. It was a lapse in concentration but we never give up. Now we look to get in the tournament and extend our season as long as possible. It's realistic that we first, get in the tournament, second, win the tournament, then get to the NCAA Tournament. That's still achievable for this group, if we mentally take on the last four games. It's a tough stretch but half of them are at home. We're good enough and have the ability to do it."

On if ULM is a dangerous team: "Every team is dangerous to us because we've made errors at the worse possible times in games where we're struggling to score. I look at the Chattanooga game, where we made one mistake but that was it and a lot of things broke our way. If we can minimize our mistakes and capitalize on chances, that's a healthy balance for any team, but for us, it seems like on days where we're not creating, we're making more mistakes. We have to get it right one day. Yes, they're dangerous and no we don't think they're an easy team. Teams go into it with the wrong mentality. They go into it thinking it'll be easy and it's not; it's 11 on 11. We'll treat it the same way as Texas State or Coastal Carolina and go into it with a solid mindset. We're going to go after them, because we need to. We're a team that builds on the emotions of the game and we need confidence. We're going to push the team and make sure they're ready."

On if the delay with App State has helped or hurt: "The delay does nothing to us. When you start the season and you're rescheduling games on the front end, it's not the best start, but that's an excuse. We've just learned to adapt. It makes for a difficult weekend, because now you're at ULM and flying out after. It creates challenges for the student-athletes. It's not what's best for us, but we'll adapt to it and get on with it. It's all a part of being a student-athlete. We're thankful for the staff that help these young ladies and help them make up work, like Cody Crisp, who's constantly in their ear trying to help them. Without those people these last couple of weeks, we'd be doomed."
