MOBILE, Ala. – This week's guest on "Inside JagNation" is Dederick Lee from the University of South Alabama men's basketball program.

In this edition of the official podcast of the Jaguar Athletics, Lee discusses what he's doing while on campus during the summer break, what he is working on in preparation for the upcoming season and his excitement about this year's team.  Other topics addressed in the interview include his role as a leader in the program — he is one of three seniors on the roster — his expectations coming into the program from Indian Hills (Iowa) C.C., and how his time at Oral Roberts made the adjustment to South easier.

Lee also talks about his decision to play basketball when he was younger, playing for his father, who he thinks is the best player in the family — he has five brothers and a sister — how he made the transition from a scoring guard into his current role and what he hopes to do in the future once he is done playing the sport.

A native of Clarksville, Ark., Lee was a three-time all-state selection and scored over 2,500 points while helping Clarksville High to a pair of state championships.  He began his NCAA Division I career at Oral Roberts, appearing in 20 games as a redshirt freshman during the 2014-15 campaign, and the following season he averaged better than six points per game and handed out 208 assists while shooting 46.5 percent from the floor in guiding IHCC to a berth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Tournament.

In his first season as a Jaguar, Lee saw action in all 32 contests — earning 28 starts — and averaged three points and 1.8 rebounds per game to go along with 81 assists and 28 steals.
