All-Time Series
South Alabama holds a 66-26 all-time lead over Arkansas State in a series that began in 1993. The Jags have won six straight games in the series, dating back to the 2015 season, as well as the last two series including a three-game sweep of the Red Wolves last year at Stanky Field.

Last Time Out
USA defeated Alabama State 6-4 Wednesday night at Stanky Field behind right-hander Tyler Perez, who tossed a career-high five innings in relief and recorded a career-best two strikeouts to earn his first career win. Travis Swaggerty went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Jags at the plate. South Alabama defeated No. 11 Mississippi State 5-2 Tuesday at Stanky Field to record its third win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season. Right-hander Sean Trimble tossed a career-high 6 2/3 scoreless innings, and allowed just two hits while striking out five with two walks to earn the win. Brendan Donovan went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead USA offensively. 

On Arkansas State
The Red Wolves enter the weekend in fourth place in the Sun Belt Conference West Division standings. Louisiana-Lafayette swept a three-game series from ASU last weekend in Lafayette. The Red Wolves are 13-6 at home this season, and have won six straight games at Tomlinson Stadium entering this weekend's series. 

JAGS IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
South Alabama enters the weekend ranked third nationally in walks (230), seventh in on-base percentage (.412). 12th in runs (296) and runs per game (7.8), 23rd in fielding percentage (.978) and 26th in home runs (40).

LABOUNTY, SWAGGERTY IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
Shortstop Drew LaBounty ranks sixth nationally in walks per game (1.00), while center fielder Travis Swaggerty leads the SBC and ranks 11th nationally in on-base percentage (.515).

JAGS ON THE ROAD
USA enters the series 9-10 in road games, including 6-3 in Sun Belt play, and batting .292 with 36 doubles, two triples, 30 home runs, 129 RBI, 135 runs scored and 17 stolen bases. The Jaguar pitching staff has posted a 5.21 ERA in 19 road contests, with 132 strikeouts against 66 walks in 159 innings and opponents batting .278. 

TWO OR FEWER TO WIN
USA is 10-1 when allowing two or fewer runs, but is 13-14 when surrendering three or more. 

TWO-OUT RBI
Of USA's 270 team RBI, 106 have come with two outs which accounts for 39 percent of the Jaguars' team RBI total. Travis Swaggerty leads the squad with 17 two-out RBI this season.

JAG OFFENSE LEADS THE SUN BELT CONFERENCE 
South Alabama leads the SBC in slugging percentage (.458), on-base percentage (.412), runs scored (285), RBI (261) and walks (218), and ranks second in the league in batting average (.297), hits (363) home runs (40) and total bases (560). 

LEADING AFTER SEVEN
USA is 19-1 when leading after seven innings this season, but is 1-10 when trailing and 2-4 when tied after seven frames. 

JAGS WITH BASES LOADED
South Alabama is hitting .493 (34-for-69) with the bases loaded this season, led by Travis Swaggerty who has six hits and is hitting .750 with the bags full of Jags. USA has hit six grand slams this season, led by Eddie Paparella with two, following Jared Barnes' game-winning grand slam on April 11 at New Orleans.

RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION
The Jags are batting .319 (136-for-426) with runners in scoring position.Travis Swaggerty leads the team with 18 hits with RISP. The Jags hit .281 (9-for-32) with runners in scoring position in last weekend's series against No. 26 Coastal Carolina.

TEN OR MORE RUNS
USA is 9-0 when scoring 10 or more runs this season and 17-5 when scoring six or more, but is 6-10 when scoring five or less. 

Home Run drought
South Alabama has homered in nine of its last 13 contests and has already surpassed last season's home run total of  31, but has not hit a home run in three straight games entering the weekend. The Jags' longest stretch without a home run this year came in four consecutive games (Feb. 28-March 5).

EARLY/LATE-INNING RUN PRODUCTION
South Alabama has outscored the opposition 31-9 in the first inning and 21-3 in the ninth inning this season. USA has allowed more runs (31) in the sixth and eighth innings than any other frames this year.

JAG BATS LAST WEEK
South Alabama hit .263 with eight doubles, three home runs, 25 RBI and 25 runs scored while going 2-2 in four games last week. Freshman second baseman Hunter Stokes led the team with a .417 batting average, and also added a double, one home run, four RBI and two runs scored.

ON-BASE, HITTING STREAKS
Junior infielder Will Luft carries a career-best 19-game on-base streak into the series, while Dylan Hardy has reached safely in 13 straight contests and Hunter Stokes in 10. Hardy carries a team-best five-game hitting streak into the weekend.

HARDY IN SUN BELT GAMES
Outfielder Dylan Hardy is batting a team-high .436 in 15 Sun Belt games, and has hit safely in 10 straight league contests entering the series. In his current conference hitting streak, Hardy is batting .500 (19-for-38) with four doubles, five RBI, eight runs scored and two stolen bases while posting a .524 OBP. He has recorded three straight multiple-hit games, including a career-high four in last weekend's series-finale win over Coastal Carolina in which he provided the walk-off single in the ninth, and has recorded seven multi-hit games in the 10-game streak.
