BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of South Alabama men's and women's indoor track and field teams are slated to send five individuals to the Samford Stand Alone Multi, which will be conducted on Wednesday and Thursday at the Birmingham Crossplex.
The Jaguar contingent will include a pair of men and three women, with two of those individuals making their season debut. Â The group also features three freshmen.
Niel Giliomee was one of three student-athletes to compete last weekend at the Commodore Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt, finishing ninth in the men's pole vault with a height of 4.80m. Â Kriszti Szabo placed 13th in the women's triple jump (11.84m) and was 20th in the long jump (5.34m), with Olivia Swan coming in 14th place in the women's high jump after clearing 1.61m as well.
Lane Adams will be making his Jaguar debut at Samford, with Taylor Young from the women's squad competing for the first time at the collegiate level as well.
Competition is set to begin at noon (CDT) both days, although just the men will take part in the opening events of the heptathlon on Wednesday.  The conclusion of men's events — as well as all five disciplines for the women's pentathlon — will be conducted Thursday.
