PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of South Alabama men's basketball team will take on North Carolina State and LSU in November as part of the Legends Classic, the Gazelle Group announced Thursday.
The Jaguars are set to face NC State on Nov. 15 and LSU on Nov. 19. Times for both games will be announced at a later date.
NC State and LSU are two of four regional hosts for the multi-team event, with the semifinals and finals set for Nov. 23 and 24 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
"We are very excited to have the opportunity to compete against NC State and LSU in the Legends Classic," USA head coach
Matthew Graves said. "These games will definitely help us prepare for the Sun Belt Conference."
USA and NCSU will meet for the first time on the hardwood at the PNC Arena in Raleigh. The Wolfpack, led by head coach
Mark Gottfried, advanced to the Sweet 16 in the 2015 NCAA Tournament and compiled a 22-14 record.
The clash in Baton Rouge will mark the third game between the Jaguars and Tigers since 2010, and second in the Maravich Center. South Alabama defeated LSU 79-75 in overtime the last time the two teams met in 2011.
The Jags will be one of four teams scheduled to participate in the Legends Classic subregional in Kennesaw, Ga. The bracket will consist of South Alabama, IUPUI, Belmont and host Kennesaw State.
