MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will host Alabama at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stanky Field.
The game will be broadcast live on WNTM 710 AM in Mobile, and can also be accessed via the iHeartRadio app. Live streaming will be available for purchase through JagNationTV.com, and live stats will be available through the multimedia section of USAJaguars.com. Jaguar right-hander Austin Bembnowski (1-2) will make his third start of the season, while Crimson Tide right-hander Jake Walters (2-0) is scheduled to make his second start of the year.
USA (15-9) has won three of its last four games after taking two of three from Texas State last weekend at Stanky Field. Alabama (13-9) enters the contest having just snapped the nation's longest winning streak after defeating Texas A&M 6-2 last weekend in College Station, Texas, in the series finale.
The Crimson Tide holds a 56-48 all-time lead in the series which began in 1967. The last meeting between the schools occurred on April 3, 2012, at Stanky Field, which Alabama won 9-5. The Crimson Tide has won the last three contests in the series. USA's last win over Alabama came in 2011 in former head coach Steve Kitttrell's final season.
Danny Martinez carries an 11-game hitting streak and 19-game on-base streak into the game, while Adam Ballew, Bud Collura, Ben Gann and Cole Gleason have each hit safely in their last four games.
The Jaguars lead the Sun Belt Conference in on-base percentage (.390), hits (231), walks (112), hit by pitch (38) and stolen bases (38). USA ranks second in the league in batting average (.284) and runs scored (134), and is tied for second in RBI (11).
USA pitchers rank second in the SBC in strikeouts (179), while the Jaguar defense leads the conference with a .974 fielding percentage.
