EUGENE, Ore. – A trio of University of South Alabama freshmen travelled to Oregon's Hayward Field this weekend and logged top-10 finishes at the USA Track and Field Junior Outdoor Championships, a competition boasting the top talent under the age of 20 from across the country.

In the women's triple jump on Saturday, Kaitlyn Beans – returning to Eugene after competing in the NCAA National Championships last month – recorded a 12.99m effort on her sixth and final leap to finish fourth overall. It marked the third-best performance of the season for the school-record-holder and recent Sun Belt Conference champion.

Also on Saturday, David Reinhardt registered a 10
th-place finish in the men's javelin after posting a mark of 55.44m on his initial attempt. Â The Mobile native ends his freshman campaign ranked fourth in Jag history in the event with a career-best 59.08m throw set earlier this year.

Competing as an unattached individual, Lezyon Legarde took part in the men's triple jump Sunday and notched a sixth-place finish with a 15.22m measure on his fifth try. Legarde completes the season with the second-best mark in school history (15.45m) in the event.
