JAGUARS DEFEAT SPRING HILL, 9-0, IN SPRING SOCCER ACTION

USA's Nini Rabsatt-Smith recorded a hat trick in the Jaguars' 9-0 win over Spring Hill in spring soccer play on Tuesday.
MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama women's soccer defeated Spring Hill, 9-0, in four 12-minute, 7-v-7 periods of spring competition at The Cage on Tuesday night.

Nini Rabsatt-Smith and Anne Baumhower each recorded hat tricks to lead the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Tournament champions to scores of 2-0, 2-0, 2-0 and 3-0 in the intervals. Jordan Duncan added a goal apiece in the first two periods, while Alyssa Mayer capped the final with one score.

"I was very pleased with how we played for about 40 of the 48 minutes today," said second-year USA head coach Graham Winkworth. "We moved the ball around very well and were far more clinical in front of goal than we were on Saturday.

"I felt we defended well limiting their chances with [goalkeeper] Sarah [Hay] doing confident when called upon," Winkworth added. "I was delighted for both Anne and Nini to get hat tricks. The team is playing very unselfish soccer right now, and if we can come back in shape next fall, I am going to have a lot of good headaches trying to pick a starting 11."
