Locke St. John will make his ninth start of the season in Friday's series opener.

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama baseball team will host Arkansas State in a three-game Sun Belt Conference series this weekend at Stanky Field.

The series will open with game one at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by game two at 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening. The series finale is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.

All three games will be streamed live and will be available for purchase through the All-Access section at USAJaguars.com. Each game will also be broadcast live on WNSP 105.5 FM in Mobile, and can be accessed nationwide at WNSP.com. Jaguar southpaw Locke St. John (3-1) will make his ninth start of the season in the series opener, and will square off with ASU right-hander David Owen (4-1). Right-hander Kevin Hill (2-4) is scheduled to make his seventh start of the year in game two, while the Red Wolves will counter with left-hander Chandler Hawkins (2-4). ASU will start right-hander Bradley Wallace (3-3) in the series finale, while the Jags have not announced a Sunday starter.

South Alabama (15-17, 5-6 SBC) enters the weekend after dropping a 15-4 decision at Nicholls State Wednesday. The Jags took two of three games last weekend at Texas State, and enter the weekend in sixth place.

USA holds a 58-22 all-time lead over ASU in a series that dates back to 1993. The Jaguars swept a three-game series at ASU last season, which snapped a four-game losing skid to the Red Wolves. South Alabama is 27-9 against Arkansas State in regular-season contests at Stanky Field.

ASU (18-15, 8-4 SBC) enters the series having won two consecutive games after shutting out Central Arkansas 3-0 Wednesday in Jonesboro, Ark. The Red Wolves dropped two of three games at Western Kentucky, but avoided the sweep with a 7-5 win in the series finale last Sunday.

Arkansas State leads the SBC in walks (152) and fielding percentage (.980) entering the weekend. Matt Burgess leads the team in batting average (.313) and RBI (35), while Austin Baker holds team-best marks in runs scored (31), home runs (5), total bases (62), slugging percentage (.504) and on-base percentage (.417).
