MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama will hold its annual Red-Blue spring football game Saturday, with the event set to kick off at 11 a.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

But it will be more than just an intrasquad game and not the only Jaguar athletic event that day.

The USA softball team — ranked as high as 12th in the national polls this week — will open a Sun Belt Conference series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Louisiana-Monroe at Jaguar Field, while the baseball team takes on Texas-Arlington in a 3 p.m. league contest at Stanky Field.

All fans who attend the spring football game will receive a voucher for free admission for up to four individuals at the baseball contest in the afternoon.

Prior to the start of the Red-Blue contest, the West parking lot at the stadium will open at 8 a.m. for fans interested in tailgating.  Entry to the stadium through Gate 2W will be available at 10 a.m., with individuals able to purchase season tickets — including the ability to select their seats for the fall — and JagWear merchandise on the main concourse.  Following play, fans will be allowed on the Ladd-Peebles Stadium field for 30 minutes in order to obtain autographs from and take pictures with Jaguar players and coaches.

Rosters for the two teams will be announced later in the week, with the game featuring two 10-minute periods in the opening half with a standard clock and a pair of 12-minute quarters with a running clock after the break.  During a 10-minute intermission, the USA soccer squad will receive championship rings after winning the Sun Belt Tournament title and making the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance last fall.
