NAMPA, Idaho – University of South Alabama senior Lindsay Schwartz finished 13
th in the women’s pentathlon at the 2012 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Jacksons Indoor Track.
Behind a personal-best 8.59-second finish in the 60-meter hurdles for 997 points, Schwartz posted a score of 3,951 points, only 45 shy of the school and conference record 3,996 she collected on Feb. 25 at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
In the second of five events in the competition, Schwartz nabbed 806 markers on a 1.66m (5-05.50) effort in the high jump, her second-highest point accumulation of the competition, slightly ahead of the 804 she got in the long jump (5.85m/19-02.50). Schwartz ended the affair with a 2:21.70 finish (801 points) in the 800 meters, just 0.38 seconds behind the indoor career-best 2:21.32 she also recorded at conference.
Schwartz ends her indoor career as a two-time SBC pentathlon champion and as the best Lady Jag to compete in the event, as her 2012 conference record stands atop the USA all-time women’s indoor charts.
