CONYERS, Ga. – The University of South Alabama’s women’s tennis team concluded tournament play Sunday with two additional wins in doubles matches at the Southern Shootout hosted by Georgia State.
The Jaguars went 8-1 in doubles matches and 11-7 in singles for the weekend.
South Alabama vied against teams from Samford in doubles action and individuals from Georgia State in singles.
“It was good to see us match up and get the better of three teams that are usually nationally ranked,” said USA head coach
Jaco Keyser.

“The quality of play is not quite where we need it to be,” said Keyser. “Having said that, I love our mental approach, willingness to engage in matches and chip on the shoulder attitude. If we can keep chipping away every day and keep improving I am confident we will be a very competitive club this upcoming season.”
The Jaguars return to action Oct. 7-9 with the Ragin Cajun Classic in Lafayette, La.
