MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama Department of Athletics announced Thursday that it has teamed with Regions Bank to help support the United Way of Southwest Alabama.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 at all area Regions Bank locations for the Jaguar football team’s season-opening contest against Pikeville (Ky.) on Sept. 4, with a portion of the proceeds going to the United Way.  The game against the Bears will kick off at 4 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium that day.

When USA and the United Way teamed together last fall prior to the Jags’ inaugural contest — a 30-13 victory over Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy — a check for nearly $19,000 was presented to the latter organization.
