Shelter helped the South Alabama women’s basketball even its conference record with a 2-0 mark this past week.  For the week, Shelter led USA with 15.0 points per game and averaged eight boards per outing while knocking down five of her 11 attempts from the arc for 45.5 percent.  On Wednesday, Shelter recorded eight points in South Alabama’s two-point victory over preseason SBC East Division favorite Western Kentucky.  On Sunday, the Mobile native posted her first double-double of the season with a season-high 22 point and 11 rebounds; the 11 boards were one shy of tying a career-best and helped USA end the game with a 14 rebound advantage over Louisiana-Monroe – who entered the contest leading the Sun Belt on the glass.
