- South Alabama closes its nonconference schedule at Kentucky before opening Sun Belt play against ULM on Oct. 3. The Jaguars are 2-1 following a 41-36 win over Ohio.
- South Alabama rushed for a season-high 266 yards and four touchdowns against Ohio. Keenan Phillips led the Jaguars with 116 yards and a touchdown, Trae'von Dunbar scored twice and PJ Martin added a rushing touchdown.
- Phillips, Martin and Dunbar have combined for 575 rushing yards and seven touchdowns through three games. South Alabama is averaging 229.7 rushing yards per contest.
- Jared Hollins made his first start as a Jaguar. Hollins completed 13-of-20 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown, connecting with Rod Gibbs for a 34-yard score on fourth down.
- Bishop Davenport started South Alabama's first two games, completing 40-of-59 passes for 450 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He set a career high with 296 passing yards at Tulane.
- Brendan Jenkins leads the Jaguars with 15 receptions for 202 yards and two touchdowns. He has surpassed his totals in all three categories from the 2025 season.
- South Alabama ranks second nationally in time of possession at 36:46 per game. The Jaguars have held the possession advantage in all three contests and have run 228 offensive plays compared to 147 for their opponents.
- The Jaguars have scored on 13 of 14 red-zone opportunities, including all five against Ohio, and have not committed a turnover this season.
- Cole Blaylock leads South Alabama with 18 tackles through three games. The Jaguars have forced four turnovers, including an interception by D.J. Moore and a fumble recovery by Christian Ross against Ohio.
ABOUT KENTUCKY
- Kentucky enters Saturday's game 2-1 following a 31-21 road victory over No.23 Texas A&M. The Wildcats opened the season with a 45-13 win over Youngstown State and fell to Alabama, 45-17, in Week 2.
- Will Stein is in his first season as Kentucky's head coach.
- The Wildcats average 31.0 points and 374.3 yards of total offense per game, including 141.3 rushing yards and 233.0 passing yards.

SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday will mark the first meeting between South Alabama and Kentucky.
- Kentucky will be the seventh different current SEC program South Alabama has faced. The Jaguars are 1-8 in nine previous games against current members of the conference.
- South Alabama's win against a current SEC opponent came at Mississippi State on Sept. 3, 2016, when the Jaguars rallied for a 21-20 victory.
- Saturday will mark the third consecutive season South Alabama has faced an SEC opponent after trips to LSU in 2024 and Auburn in 2025.
