NEW ORLEANS, La.  – South Alabama held the lead deep into the fourth quarter, but Tulane scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:17 remaining to defeat the Jaguars, 28-24, Saturday night at Yulman Stadium. The loss drops the Jaguars to 1-1 on the season, while Tulane improves to 1-1 on the season. 

Key Moments 

• South Alabama opened the scoring as Davis Little drilled a career-long 40-yard field goal to give the Jags a 3-0 lead. 

• The Jaguars extended their advantage late in the first quarter when PJ Martin broke free for a 16-yard touchdown run. The score completed a six-play, 73-yard drive and gave South Alabama a 10-0 lead.

• Tulane responded with a pair of short touchdown runs in the second quarter to take a 14-10 advantage into halftime.

• South Alabama reclaimed the lead on its opening possession of the second half. The Jaguars drove 92 yards in five plays, with Bishop Davenport connecting with Anthony Eager for a 43-yard touchdown to put South Alabama ahead, 17-14.

• Tulane answered just 18 seconds later with an 80-yard run, giving the Green Wave a 21-17 advantage.

• The Jaguars responded with a 12-play, 70-yard scoring drive that took 7:58 off the clock. Davenport capped the possession with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Brendan Jenkins, putting South Alabama back in front, 24-21, with 11:49 remaining..

• Tulane took over at its own 22-yard line with 4:39 remaining and drove 78 yards for the go-ahead score. Kadin Semonza connected with Destyn Hill for a 14-yard touchdown on third-and-4 to give the Green Wave a 28-24 lead with 1:17 left.

• The Jaguars recorded 25 first downs while limiting Tulane to 13.

• Eager's 43-yard reception was the second-longest of his career and his first touchdown of the season.
