Gracie McDonald was also 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a stolen base and a RBI.
Sydney Scapin (8-7) held Georgia State (24-22, 4-11 SBC) in check offensively holding them two hits, while

Quotable – head coach Becky Clark
- On coming back to take the series after losing the close game Friday night: "It was a tough loss on Friday night. Those are the kind that you take home with you. I thought we responded yesterday and then coming out and doing what they did today made for two big wins. I'm proud of our kids for their effort. I thought these were two team wins with a lot of people working to do a lot of little things and string a lot of little things together. I think that's a big deal. It's a good way for us to go into this next week, because this series coming up is a pretty big one."
- On the series at Marshall next weekend: "It's a big weekend ahead on the road. Marshall's playing really well and they've done a great job up there. [They have] a well-coached team and a very, very good team. We'll go up there and hopefully do what we did here -- and I don't mean the win column. I do want to win, but [I want] us to do all the little things -- we've got to play together. After that, let the results take care of themselves."
Junior 3B Olivia Branstetter
- On what changed after the loss Friday night: "We've been play good ball here and there, and we just need to keep it going. (Saturday) before the game, we had a talk as a team, and we felt we were playing for all the wrong reasons. I told my teammates (in that meeting) that we needed to come together and play for the little girl in each of us that we once were and that wanted to play Division I softball. I wanted us to bring the fun back into the game and get more into it, and that's exactly what we've done these last two games. We have to keep this mindset and avoid falling into that pocket where we think we can just coast through the game."
- On her performance at the plate: "I can't lie. It wasn't that I was seeing the ball well, I just let my hands work. I also wasn't thinking for once."
Sophomore RHP Sydney Scapin
- On coming back and taking the series: "It was huge. I think coming out here and showing what we can do and how we can play was really big for us, and gives us a huge confidence boost for us. We needed a reset from the Texas State series last weekend."
- On what was working for her in the circle: "My changeup was good, and then keeping them off-balance on both sides of the plate."
